Definition
Average price over a specific period, plotted on a chart
Explanation
Moving averages smooth out price fluctuations to show trends. Common periods: 50-day (short-term), 200-day (long-term). Price above the MA suggests uptrend; below suggests downtrend. When short-term MA crosses above long-term MA, it's called a "golden cross" (bullish signal).
